How are you coping with the current coronavirus pandemic? Do you struggle to find peace and hope in this crisis?

Fear of the COVID 19 virus causes overwhelming stress and anxiety to people. We worry about our health, our loved ones, our jobs, businesses, and financial situations. As the pandemic continues, the level of uncertainty also heightens. The feeling of not being in control and uncertain of what the future will bring can drain us emotionally.

Where to find comfort and peace?

Each of us may respond in different ways to stress during the COVID 19 pandemic, depending on the factors that affect our situations. When worries and fear steal our peace, find comfort in the presence of God, our Lord of peace. Here are Bible verses to inspire you and help you find God’s peace:

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”

(Philippians 4:6-7)

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

(John 14:27)

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

(Psalm 23:4)

Our source of hope

Let our hope not waver when uncertainty, fear, and grief surround us. Find hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. Do not be discouraged, have faith, and place your trust in Him.

“Behold, the LORD’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness, to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine. Our soul has waited for the LORD. He is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let your loving kindness be on us, LORD, since we have hoped in you.

(Psalm 33:18-22)

Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us.

(Psalm 62:8)

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.

(Romans 15:13)

Trust in God’s promises

God gives us assurance of His love for us, He cares for us. When life seems uncertain, trust that God is in control. Our God is faithful in His promises.

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

(Isaiah 41:10)

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

(Psalm 34:18-19)

If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.

(John 15:7)
